One Step Further

Robert Kuo was born in Beijing but is known for his contemporary work to incorporate traditional Chinese and American design. His works include a multitude of decorative objects that are seen around the world. Inspired by organic forms, Kuo takes inspiration form nature and timeless motifs found within the Chinese Han and Ming dynasties. He occasionally combines them with Deco and Nouveau influences, which can be seen in various showrooms within the U.S. and Europe. While he started as a designer, his attention shifted to the art of hammering metal to form decorative reliefs. This led to his continuous designs displayed within his numerous showrooms.

  2. Susie,
I appreciate how you gave us a detailed and comprehensive description of indigenous furniture and it's development over time. I would have enjoyed some images that support your descriptions. I also would like to see some examples of current applications. Modern furniture that is inspired by these early designs. I did not see any summary of chapter 8 which focused on China and India. I did appreciate your deeper dive into Robert Kuo. 30/50 points
